Summary

Here at Insmed, we believe in data drive decision making. To support this and the continued growth of our data platform, we are looking to recruit a talented candidate to join our growing Informatics team. As a Platform Developer, you will apply your expertise in full-stack software development and scientific programming to help expand Insmed’s data platform capabilities and empower the companies supporting data ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a key contributor in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, building upon a low footprint code base to help shape the future of data exploration and interpretation at Insmed.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a flexible bioinformatic web-ecosystem empowering our wet lab scientists and data scientists to get more out of their data.
  • Engineer, optimize, and validate internal pipelines to be flexible, scalable, and configurable while maintaining production quality standards.
  • Work with DevOps support to maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure – ensuring we have an environment positioned to meet the data needs of the company
  • Promote data integrity and responsibility employing the best practices for data handling and storage, to empower broadscale analyses. 
  • Liaise with stakeholders and external collaborators

Essential requirements
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in bioinformatics, biology, medicine, machine learning, statistics, computer science or a similar area
  • Full stack development experience
  • Strong software development skills in Java Script – preferably Svelte
  • Strong coding skills in python
  • Experience interfacing with SQL databases – preferably PostgreSQL
  • Experience deploying in a cloud environment – gCloud, AWS, Azure, …etc.
  • Experience coding within a team
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience of version control using git, with familiarity of different branching and merging strategies
Desirable:
  • Experience designing and maintaining SQL databases – preferably PostgreSQL
  • UI/Ux experience
  • Experience developing tools for drug discovery
  • Experience working with Pydantic & SQL alchemy
  • Experience with Nextflow
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary team
