Summary

The Associate Director Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will be a financial business partner and support the European leadership team (ELT) and functions in preparation of budgets, forecasts, long range plans, strategic investments for growth, and special projects. In addition, this role will be responsible for financial analysis and reporting of revenues and EMEA operating expenses, accruals, ensuring timely and accurate book closing, and financial reporting compliance (internal controls).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a financial business partner for the ELT and all EMEA functions to ensure budgets and forecasts are collated, aligned, presented, and tracked. Collect and consolidate required information for recurring forecasts, variance analyses, and management reports.
  • Prepare decision support analysis, financial modeling (including regional and sub-regional P&Ls), and ad-hoc analytical support to optimize resource allocation decisions and minimize costs while maximizing corporate value.
  • Develop, maintain, and effectively communicate recurring internal consolidated reports and leadership team presentations, including high-level business and financial presentations for ELT.
  • Partner with commercial leadership on pricing and contracting strategy and track net sales performance, as well as forecasts of gross to net, governmental, distributor, payer and other rebates/discounts, distribution channel (3PL, SDs, SPs), patient services calculations.
  • Support EU leadership in partnership with Procurement in support of major contract review/analysis to ensure financial viability and minimize risk to Insmed.
  • Work closely with business areas and EU Finance to ensure timely and accurate book closing.  This includes proper accruals for gross-to-net reserves, COGS and related items, operational spending, as well as providing accurate and timely support of purchase requisition and invoice requirements in accordance with Procurement and AP processes. 
  • Support EU Finance and Audit teams with review and input on applicable initiatives.  Maintain internal control environment to the highest standards of compliance and integrity including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX).
  • Support FP&A team functional initiatives to promote internal alignment and process efficiency.
  • Identify and support initiatives to enhance FP&A reporting capabilities, including internally developed reports as well as new reporting tools.
  • Facilitate process improvement and identify/assist in executing appropriate training to enable the adoption of new processes, tools, and models.
  • Short-term cash flow analysis and forecasting.
Position Requirements :
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant financial experience; Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems and data management is required; Oracle experience is a plus
  • Experienced in developing executive level presentations and reporting packages/dashboards
  • Strong analytical stills and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Committed to timeline-driven process associated with monthly closings, reporting deadlines, quarterly forecasts, and other ad-hoc projects
  • Dedicated team player with strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment
  • Must successfully exhibit Insmed's core corporate competencies

Travel:
  • Travel could be up to 20%
