Summary

We are looking for a self-driven and independent Senior Scientist to join our growing team and help translate our innovative synthetic rescue platform into groundbreaking new medicines. Your primary responsibility will be to apply your biomarker development expertise supporting drug discovery programs across various therapeutic areas. You will work alongside a passionate, multidisciplinary team driven by a desire to serve patient populations of greatest unmet medical need, using cutting edge research and novel technologies.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to identify and develop biomarkers to understand disease biology, drug response and patient selection to support preclinical and clinical studies. 
  • Responsible for the generation, analysis and interpretation of biomarker data to project teams.
  • Identify and develop novel assays/platforms to support biomarker discovery in biological matrices.
  • Support method development of preclinical and clinical biomarker assays, in house and at CROs.
  • Support exploratory translational research on platform development and novel targets.
  • Analyze, interpret, troubleshoot and deliver high-quality data packages and reports.
  • Lead data presentations and discussions in both internal and external meetings to support and advance project milestones.
  • Stay up to date with scientific literature and maintain an awareness of emerging biomarker technologies and therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
Position Requirements:
  • PhD with at least 5-year postdoc or equivalent biopharma experience. Experience in a drug discovery/development environment is preferred. 
  • Expertise in producing biomarker data packages to enable decision-making on project progression.
  • Experience in biomarker discovery and development using patient multi-omic data and analysis.
  • Understanding of the principles and challenges of translational assay design for CNS and rare diseases.
  • Experience in biomarker assay design and execution supporting drug discovery/development process (e.g. target engagement, safety, efficacy biomarkers, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in immunoassay, multiplex and molecular assay development and optimization (e.g. ELISA, MSD, SIMOA, qPCR, ddPCR, RNAseq, etc.).
  • Competence in data analysis software, including Graphpad, Excel and FlowJo.
  • Self-starter with strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
  • Occasional weekend work is required.
