Summary

At Insmed Cambridge, we are seeking a talented Computational Senior Scientist! You will bring your expertise in Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) to develop a new design and make platform. We discover novel targets to generate first in class therapeutics that serve patients with rare diseases, join in!

Responsibilities

  • Apply CADD to drive project progression. Using computational chemistry tools and techniques (such as molecular docking, molecular dynamics, QSAR, and free energy calculations) to aid the design and optimization of small molecules, oligonucleotides, and biologics.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Medicinal Chemists, Data Scientists, Biologists and external partners to integrate computational findings into drug discovery projects.
  • Apply protein structure generation and analysis, homology modelling, and protein-ligand interaction studies to aid designing molecules.
  • Contribute towards the design and development of a pioneering computational chemistry platform that integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other advanced technologies for data-driven drug discovery.
  • Bring and develop knowledge that allows us to get in front of and invest the latest advancements in CADD, protein structure modelling, and AI applications.
  • Analyse and interpret large datasets from molecular modeling, virtual screening, and protein-ligand interaction studies to provide actionable insights for drug development programs.
What we are looking for
  • PhD or MSc in Computational Chemistry, Structural Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with industry experience (4-5 years +).
  • Strong expertise in CADD tools - Schrödinger, MOE, Gaussian, or other industry-standard software) for small molecule, oligonucleotide, or biologic design.
  • Hands-on experience in protein structure prediction, homology modelling, and a keen interest in exploring novel methods for protein structure generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with physics based methods including MD simulation and use of free energy methods.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R and data visualization tools (such as Spotfire) is a plus.
